A few weeks ago I put together a UC520 based VOIP test system for onsite demos. It includes a UC520 8 user box, a pair of 7960 handsets and a laptop with Cisco IP Communicator (sofphone) and VPN client software installed. The demo system is configured for use with PSTN lines utilizing the FXO ports, has 3 configured users and includes these features:
- All phones ring when a call comes in
- PBX Key system hybrid with unique user extensions
- Auto attendant with custom menu prompts
- Transfer direct to voicemail function
- User and GDM voicemail
- 2 way Intercom by extension or button
- Group paging
- 1 button transfer
- Caller-id
- Park slot and user extension monitoring
- VPN connectivity with split tunnel
The following Cisco IP Communicator screenshot is from the laptop connected via Cisco VPN Client to the UC520.
The button layout and configuration is the same on the 7960 phones. See my previous Custom AA post ( http://808techblog.com/2008/09/cisco-uc520-custom-auto-attend.html ) for details on the CUE configuration. Complete config with additional notes and details available here:
